This hiring wasnt by happenstance, though. Upfront managing partner Mark Suster told VentureBeat that the firm has already done two deals with Fuller before and that it also works well with Accel. Suster said that he was impressed with [Fullers] operating knowledge, investment judgement, and unwavering support for entrepreneurs. Hes the perfect mix of operating and venture experience to add capacity to our partner team and capability for our portfolio companies.

Suster shared that this was a good career move for Fuller and said that Fuller had received Accels blessing: We want to do three more deals with [Upfront]. Although Fuller was hired as an investment partner, there are additional areas where hell be able to help Upfront improve coverage: VR and martech.

When it comes to VR, Fullers been at the forefront, especially from an investment side he was an early investor in Oculus, which Facebook acquired for $2 billion. His experience should complement Upfronts background, as the firm has already invested in VR startups such as VREAL.

Fuller also has experience in the martech space: Previous investments hes made include ExactTarget and Instructure, and hes been the chief marketing officer for Revolve Clothing and at ecommerce company FWRD.

He joins Suster, Yves Sisteron, Steven Dietz, Greg Bettinelli, Kara Nortman, Hamet Watt, and Stuart Lander at Upfront.

Upfront Ventures is at the forefront of unprecedented investment growth in Los Angeles, and Im eager to help fuel the growing LA venture community while expanding our national investing footprint, Fuller said.

Updated at 8:48 a.m. Pacific on Thursday: This post has been corrected to describe Kobie Fullers time at Accel as principal, not general partner.

Web Design Advice You Can Use Right Now

Some people may know the basics of web design but don't understand the differences that make a site that is usable on mobile platforms or apps to accompany the site for users on the go. If this is something you are struggling with, read these tips. These simple recommendations will help you design a modern website.

Make sure the code you write has a valid HTML+CSS if you're designing a website. Although most browsers can make sense of code that isn't valid, it could be rendered correctly or incorrectly. Valid code will render the same way most of the time in modern browsers. You can check the validity of your HTML code with an HTML validator.

Make sure your webpages aren't too long. You only get one chance to make a first impression, and if your most important content is "below the fold," it may not even be read. Consider breaking it up into sections and adding links to each section if you have a lot of related content that needs to stay together.

Have a site map. These are useful to your clients and the search engines, as they give a detailed overview of your entire website. It can be a guide for viewers searching for a certain part of your site, and also allow you to keep track of its structure and layout.

Don't use splash pages for your site unless required by law, and especially don't use a Flash intro. Most people just want to get to your content as quickly as possible, and don't care to look at useless splash pages. Integrate it into the homepage instead if you have some amusing content that you absolutely want visitors to see.

Keep each different topic separated. Put each topic on a different page. This will reduce visitor confusion and facilitate readability by the search engines.

One thing you should always take into account when you're thinking about web design is the latest technology that is out today. As technology advances to does the web, so be sure you are always up to date with what is changing so that you're that much more understanding of how the web works.

Use a tracking service, rather than displaying your visitor counter for all to read. Many websites still display their counters, yet they do not serve any real purpose. There are many high quality tracking services available, and some are even free. Use these instead of showing off how many people visit you.

Utilize conditional CSS and loading pages when you are building your site. It can be easier when you test it later or for maintenance purposes. Every website needs some maintenance eventually, so you need things to be as easy as possible to make the necessary changes.

A basic layout should be used for your site in the beginning, this way you can get an understanding of the basics of web design. This basic design will help you grasp the easy stuff, which will prepare you to tackle more advanced web design principles in time.

Make sure that the computer you're using is advanced enough to run programs like Dreamweaver and Photoshop. The last thing you want to do is invest money into buying programs like these then realizing that you're computer can't run them, this can save you a headache and time by checking up on this.

Run tests on different browser applications to make sure your site works on all of them. Every browser interprets sites in their own way, and sometimes that can lead to drastic differences in the way a site appears to a user, affecting not only visual elements, but functional elements as well. Utilize the Internet by researching which browsers are the most commonly used. Use all popular browsers to test your site, including the mobile web ones.

Don't rely solely on the design tools provided by the host to build your site. By adding your own touches beyond the basics that the host provides, work your own individuality into your website.

If you want a great website, master the art of locating navigation menus in the right spot. A good tip to implement here is to check around to see how other people are handling their navigation menus. This is the spot where your visitor will figure your site out. You can't have a hidden or confusing navigation menu.

To ensure stability with your site make sure that you take every precaution to not overload your site with too much content on it at once. You want each page to have just the right amount of information so that people will keep coming back for more after they leave.

Staying current with web design is no easy task. Websites are very important for any company looking to do business in the 21st century. Web design is also a field in which people can make good money.

It might be best to look at alternatives to Flash. Flash can slow down visitors' computers, and make them unlikely to want to stay on your site. Also, you should keep in mind that a lot of mobile Internet tools, such as smartphones and tablets, will not display Flash. You could be cutting yourself off from a pretty large pool of potential visitors by using Flash.

As an alternative to Photoshop, you could choose to use the GIMP photo editor. GIMP has practically every single feature that Adobe Photoshop does and instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a program and using up a few hundred MBs of program space, GIMP is 100% free and runs about 35mb.

Make good use of "white space." Although not always white, it is merely a blank space within a web page. Designing web pages with a how viewers would see your site is key, therefore you don't want to clutter your website with lots of pictures and text. White space allows visitors to easily scan your pages and feel comfortable on your site.

In conclusion, one of the most important things to consider when creating a web site for your company is to use the best web design methods available. It would prove foolish to try to just get by. Ideally, you are much more comfortable with web design methods after reading the previous tips.

Begin Your Ascent To The Top With These SEO Strategies

dallas seo services

Search engine optimization is something you need to master on your own. What you put in your website directly correlates your earnings potential. You'll find some top tips here.

Knowing the value of different domain endings is a good way to help with search engine optimization. For instance, focus your efforts on trying to get links from .edu websites, by writing content tailored to them or making them aware of your site, as search engines give them more weight than other endings, like .com or .org.

When dealing with Meta and title tags on your pages, you have to remember to keep them very unique. In the world of SEO, finding a site that ranks highly without the proper keyword usage is extremely rare, and most of the top-ranking sites constantly change their tags and make them unique to the people who are searching in their particular market.

Clean up your blog space and remove unnecessary widgets and graphics. You want people to be comfortable spending time on your blog so they read more content. The more they read, the more they can be pushed towards the affiliate products you are promoting. Be sure to make your blog easy to read by using fonts and colors that look nice and have a good amount of contrast.

Include various images on your website so that you can take advantage of the visual searches on the big search engines. Sometimes, it is much better to display, promote or market your product with a picture, rather than explaining what it does with a text description. This will go a long way in improving your visibility as a company.

Your meta description should make an impact and demand a call for action from the searcher. Use words and phrases that get people to respond in a motivated way. Before they even click through, Incorporate phone numbers or specific sales dialogue that create a buying atmosphere. Keep it short and to the point at 155 characters.

One effective search engine optimization strategy is to use links within your own website to boost the rank of individual pages. When properly used, internal links can help search engines determine which pages of your site are most important and which keywords are relevant for those pages. To make the most of this technique, link from one page of your site to another, then use the keyword phrase you want to rank for in the anchor text of your link.

Not too lengthy, even though be varied in the page titles of your site. Targeting over 70 characters will begin to diminish the weight of the page or site. Keep the titles condensed and intersperse a wide variety of your keywords and phrases amongst them. Each individual page will add its own weight to the overall search.

Do not overspend on generating traffic. You do not need to buy all different kinds of traffic. Keep the traffic that you are buying specific to the information that you are offering on your site. By drawing in readers that have no interest in what you have to offer, you will not get anywhere.

Stay away from licensed trademarks and copyrighted product names if you bid for keywords on a pay-per-click search engine with an eye towards increasing your page rank. Their owners will not appreciate you taking advantage of them, even though these can be popular search terms. If you have an arrangement with the owners - and double-check their assent to this particular usage, only use such terms.

You do not have to use the same exact word for your keyword throughout your article. Search engines are optimized to understand that plurals and tenses of your keyword are really the same word. Using this will keep your keyword visible to the search engines, and will make your page much more readable for your audience.

Sometimes focusing too much on SEO-related keywords and rules can detract from your writing quality and topic. By writing for your readers, you should start. Writing a quality article should be your goal. Afterwards you can always go back and add keywords and edit it as you see fit.

Make sure that your site is written in accessible HTML. This will make sure that both the spiders of a search engine crawl and readers can read and find your site. A site that is designed for one or the other is never going to rank in the top search results.

When creating backlinks to your website in order to increase your web site's search engine ranking, remember which factors determine the value of a link. A quality backlink depends on the anchor text in the link, the pagerank of the page linking to your website, the page title of the page linking to your website, the reputation and quality of the website linking to your website and the method used to create the backlink.

An introduction to search engine optimization can be found all over the Internet. This is where you would go to learn how to get more traffic onto your web site. This is very common for those who have affiliate sites, blogs to generate income.

DO NOT use your front page's file name in links to it from the rest of your site. Only use your domain name as that is likely to be what other sites will use to link to you. By having two different links you'll split your link juice between the two and lower your page rank.

While a site map is a great tool in SEO, it's better if the search engine can get around your site in a natural manner. If the spider needs to rely on your site map, that means your navigation is going to be too difficult for any user to use, too.

In order to find the best results for what you are looking for when using a search great marketing company in the DFW area engine, it is important to not use too many words. The more words that you type into the search bar, the more specific that search has become and will hide many valuable options from you.

The best SEO tips are short, sweet and to the point, as you can tell from this article. They won't give you the runaround with fluff and they don't make any bold promises that you'll be instantly rich, if you only do this or that. This is real advice for the real site owner. Use it wisely and watch your rankings rise.
